Pak: 41 year prison term for cyber fraud - NDTV.com

A Pakistani court has sentenced a man to 41-year prison term for credit card fraud, the first time a person convicted for cyber crimes has been punished so severely in the country.

The Special Banking Court in Lahore on Thursday sentenced Muhammad Khan alias Ali Bhai and also imposed a fine of Rs 500,000 on him.

According to a statement issued by the Cyber Crime Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Khan was arrested from Lahore and a laptop counterfeited, credit cards of 20 international banks and data of various global banks were seized from his possession.Khan cheated people with the help of three agents who are still at large. Cyber Crime Wing Assistant Director Zia Islam said this is the first time that a cyber criminal has been punished so severely in Pakistan.
