Bangalore police arrest man for hacking bank account - indianexpress.com - 22 Nov 2008

Vadodara, November 22 : It just took four days for 30-year-old Bhavin Parikh to siphon off Rs 3.94 lakh from a Bangalore-based ABN-Amro bank account to his ICICI bank account in Vadodara.

Parikh was arrested by Bangalore cyber crime police officials on Friday. Inspector T.V. Reddy of Bangalore cyber crime police confirmed the arrest and said that Parikh not only hacked several levels of security checks, but also locked all possible leads to him.

However, the Bangalore police were able to trace Parikh by employing a few ethical hackers. A three-member police team was immediately sent to Vadodara. On Friday, the police arrested Parikh from his residence in Waghodia.

While local police officials are tightlipped about the incident, they, however, confirmed the arrest.
