Bank account numbers stolen from ATM - floridatoday.com 08 Oct 2008

The Rockledge Police Department is investigating the use of a scanning device that was placed in an ATM at a Washington Mutual Bank in Rockledge to steal debit and credit card numbers.

Video footage shows that the device was installed at the bank in the 600 block of Barnes Boulevard on the morning of Sept. 26. The device was removed the same evening by a man in his mid to late 20s with a medium to heavy build. He drove a light colored Chevrolet Silverado truck, police said.

The suspect got access to nearly 30 accounts and used the information to withdraw money from a Washington Mutual Bank on State Road 524 in Cocoa, police said.
